Matthew Oldford Nova Scotia: Entrepreneurial Vision in Construction and Finance
In the realm of modern entrepreneurship, Matthew Oldford Nova Scotia has carved out a reputation for excellence across two demanding sectors: residential construction and financial planning. With a professional path marked by discipline, technical mastery, and adaptability, Matthew Oldford stands as a model of how diversified experience can lead to long-term success.
Laying the Foundation: A Start in Construction
Born in 1980 and raised in Canada, Matthew Oldford began his journey at Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC). At 22, he dove headfirst into the construction industry, starting from the bottom and learning everything from framing to foundational systems. It wasn’t long before his ambition and learning capacity set him apart.
He took his skills to a coastal roofing company, where he worked for five years as a quoting agent. During that time, Matthew Oldford moved up to a leadership role, handling estimates for complex roofing projects valued in the hundreds of thousands. It was a critical moment of growth, giving him hands-on experience in both logistics and client-facing business management.
A Strategic Pivot: Entering the Financial Sector
Never one to settle, Matthew Oldford made a bold career shift in 2007, returning to NSCC to pursue credentials in investment and financial planning. After completing the CSC, LLQP, CPH, and GIE, he became a Certified Financial Planner (CFP)—a significant achievement in Canada’s finance sector.
He spent five successful years at Scotiabank, first as a financial planner and later as a Mobile Mortgage Specialist. In both roles, Matthew Oldford merged his understanding of construction with his financial know-how to provide holistic solutions for clients navigating home ownership, investments, and long-term planning.
Back to Building, Stronger Than Ever
In 2017, Matthew Oldford returned to his first love—construction. This time, he brought with him not only field experience but also a strategic and financial mindset. As a foreman with the Laborer’s International Union of North America (LIUNA), he supervised large crews, coordinated deadlines, and ensured the smooth execution of high-stakes projects.
Launching Matty Renos
With all these skills combined, founding his own company was a natural evolution. Matthew Oldford launched Matty Renos, a full-service renovation company that reflects his core values: trust, quality, and innovation. The firm specializes in residential remodels—from sleek kitchen overhauls to full-property transformations—and has quickly become a go-to name in Nova Scotia for clients seeking professionalism with a personal touch.
The Legacy He’s Building
Today, Matthew Oldford Nova Scotia is much more than a name—it’s a brand synonymous with reliability. His dual expertise in construction and finance uniquely positions him to lead projects that are both visionary and grounded in fiscal responsibility.
Whether working with homeowners to design dream spaces or helping them secure the financing to make those dreams a reality, Matthew Oldford continues to leave an indelible mark on his community.
